I found a baby monarch caterpillar a few weeks ago. It was about 6mm or so in length. Been taking care of it. Brought it in the house and made sure it had fresh milkweed and water. It formed its chrysalis over a week ago. This morning it went translucent and it’s out now, drying its wings for a couple hours. Looking forward to letting it outside.

Sprinkle a ton of fernleaf dill in some half shaded area of the garden and let if flourish. It'll attract a ton of butterflies.

I have a native butterfly garden. Attracts lots of good stuff. Hummingbirds, monarchs, tiger swallow tails, and honey and bumble bees. I don’t think that dill is native where I live but I’ll check it out.

Monarch is outside now. Still drying.

Dill attracts black swallow tails, if you have them there. Fernleaf dill is lush and low to the ground, perfect for those particular caterpillars. Bonus: dill is great on eggs and potatoes. Just don't eat the caterpillars. :silly:
