Banter What would you do if...

Fly.

What would you do if we for sure knew the sun would explode on Jan 1st?

Visit my friends far from me and then visit Ireland and maybe stay there LOL

WWYD if time travel existed?

Arm myself ahead of it, barricade myself in when it takes place and not deal with it. Ain't nobody got time for that.

What would you do if another earth-like planet drifted slowly and safely by Earth over a period of one week, and you could relocate to that planet by just a one-hour plane flight? The planet would continue drifting away and never return.

In such impossible scenario, I'd do the equally impossible: build a Time Machine and travel back to pre-tomorrow every time I need groceries. Or live on carefully selected restaurant food?

What would you do if suddenly all living things which aren't humans suddenly could and would start eating humans?

I can become a pussy slayer lol jk apolgies i had to but in the scenario I'd guess go hunting

What would you do if the there was less gravity on earth? Like the moon for example

Nothing. I guess everybody would be adapted?

What would you do if you remembered things only which you've seen, experienced, learned, etc a year ago, every day?

Look for the nest nearby they've fallen out of or make one so they can keep warm if I can't find it and hope mama can find them. Maybe feed them until then.

What would you do if you couldn't use electricity for lighting ever again?

I never really thought about ethics and it seems the rules are arbitrarily set by the corporation spawning the LLM's, which are largely based on laws, legality, general morality and investor wishes. Not like people can't tune their corporate subscriptions anyway and there are uncensored models in the wild. It's a complicated topic.
I would at the least lead on the same trajectory, adjusting to evolving societal norms, for obvious reasons.

What would you do if you woke up and discover that you have no windows? Where there were windows, you now just have the same, contiguous walls.

The first course I took on my way to a career in AI had a large ethics component. Problem is like you said, pretty much a bunch of guidelines and only a few regulations, so for the most part it’s the Wild West.

I think I’d first say what the fuck, slap myself to wake up, when that failed, go outside (assuming I still have doors) and look from the outside. Then probably say wtf again before grabbing my reciprocating saw and make some holes.

Humour me on this one…if a friendly AI system under your control became aware of itself (I know…a stretch) and it begged you to not shut it off, would you turn it off, which essentially kills it.

I would think “Fuck this is awesome”, take a joy ride on my sleigh, bang Mrs. Clause with an eggnog in one hand and some peppermint hot chocolate in the other, and decree that striped socks are now mandatory elf wear. Then I’d look down and be disappointed in how I’ve let myself go.

What would you do if you no longer had running water come out of your faucets, and it was now maple syrup.

Make money and make the Canadian maple syrup cartel cry. It would be a 24/7 operation. Fuck yeah.

What would you do if time started running backwards? At the same rate. And everybody was getting younger.

Cartel. 🤣

Thread:
I would enjoy getting my cartilage back. I don’t think I’d do anything else.

What would you do if a deep fake went viral of you committing a crime?
