RolePlay. As simple as the word is there are so many options and builds to it. You can be or do whatever you want (as long as it is legal ofc) there are so many characters and settings to infinity.
Does all that make it an art of some sort? And if it can be considered an art does one 'artist strike their brush better than other artists?'
Leave your answers in the poll below and I'd love to read some comments too.

Rp is a kind of interpretation and self expression, it has its own aesthetic, but it's not art. To be art, it'd have to inspire or provoke, it comes with study, if it goes to that direction, it's acting, not roleplaying.
Rp is free from rules and guides. You do it for yourself, not for others. (Questionable.)

Looking forward for your opinion and others too!

Maybe not in a classical sense it could be considered art, but I think it's a kind of an advanced form of digital improv with another person. You start with a vague prompt and let your words/imagination fill in the scene, building off one another creating a sexy sloppy script. It could be a performance art if people are watching or reading back the transcripts.

I think it absolutely can be, depending on your approach. For me, it is a form of collaborative creative writing. With the right partner, I think that can definitely become something artistic. But YMMV.

I guess something to consider that could be illuminating is, would you consider literature an art form? Poetry? A sci-fi or fantasy novel?

I am gonna be up the Roleplay_2 room for about a week plus for research *puts on my best kitten costume*
