Your favourite memory this past year

Hello everyone.

What has been your favourite memory (you are willing to share, and keep it clean please!) from this past year?

I'll start with mine. It was a snogging session under some fireworks. Makes me smile from ear to ear everytime I recall the memory.

Great thread!

It was probably winter holiday when I taught my daughter to ski. It was amazing to see how excited and talented she is and it made me feel like a kid too.

Cleaning out a very old attic with my best friend. Hot as hell and the dust was almost unbearable. Thinking back on those few days makes me smile now and getting to keep a set of blue mason jars with zinc tops ain't so bad either.

Taking my 4yr old grandson on a real steam train ride. His face just beaming with excitement was absolutely priceless.

Coming back home after two years.

I know it's said sometimes home is a person and not a place but the sense of familiarity, comfort and permanence really made me re-think my values.
So far it's been the best memory of this year.

When he took me back to the hotel I stayed at when we first met 5 years ago and proposed. I was just expecting dinner at the hotel restaurant. He excused himself while we were waiting to be seated. That's when @vicc messages me with a room number and "GO NOW". I went to the room, found the door was nudge open, and @LastOne on one knee. He never got a chance to ask me. I screamed "Yes" and tackled him. He did formally ask after he recovered from my assault.

In May I took a good (girl)friend out on a day out (no not a date ) after she's had quite some rough months. From a nasty illness to depression to slowly crawling back on her feet...

That smile she had on her face basically the whole day: best moment of the year by far.

Fairport's Cropredy Convention music festival earlier this month.
It gives me my best memories all year, every year. I think it's the only time I truly relax and let myself be me.

Skiing at Heavenly with friends. 3 days with all day lift passes and multiple runs down the mountain. And surviving it all.
