@tomjazzy in real life when I am around someone more knowledgeable than me with the Bible. I know how to clothe myself with a lil humility.
And listen. Instead of trying to be the teacher
Look at this original text versus a new translation version. And for your own sake, grasp the difference.
King James Version
Deut 20: then all the people who are found in it shall be placed under tribute to you, and serve you.
Matthew 22: Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
Clearly, tribute means to pay taxes
And clearly Romans controlled Israelite territory. Therefore Israel paid taxes unto Caesar.
Now let's read the New International Version:
Duet 20:
If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you
Matthew 22: Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?”
Funny how they changed tribute to something completely different in Duet.
Yet in Matthew called it imperial tax?
LOL yea call me whatever you want. But I'll continue to reference the original text KJV
