Archived Old Chat Scheduled Downtime (August 15th - 18th)

On August 15th until August 18th, we're temporarily disabling the old chat to get feedback on the progress made with the new chat software.

We've addressed a lot of the concerns form the previous old chat downtime thread and look forward to getting more suggestions.

Some of the major changes are:
  • Performance upgrades, for those that complained of lag, please let us know if any improvement.
  • Bug fixes, various quirks in the system have been addressed.
  • Layout changes.
Many of these changes have already taken effect, you can check them out live now in the new chat rooms, most of the visual changes will be incorporated next week.

Don't forget to check preferences and customize to your personal specifications, a lot of the feedback last time was related to individual taste, not problems with the software.
 
I mean, why exactly do you need to force people onto the new chat? Also, am I the only one here who really doesn't see the point in an entirely new chat software to begin with? The old one works just fine, and the new one doesn't offer enough advantages to justify switching (other than being made to, which is incredibly suspicious, frankly). Of course, it's entirely possible I've completely missed something.
 
is old chat ever coming back or not looks like it might or not only time will tell everyone s using the new software for now it seems

The old chat never left, still using it every day and will continue to do so for as long as it exists. :)

Because outdated and not updatable for various reasons which can't be rectified.

That's why there's feedback forum... People like to just flame the new software without any suggestions. It's very odd.

One of the biggest problems I had with the new chat is that you can't tell in user information what country a person is from. I only like chatiing in the USA. Makes it impossible when the countries where they are from is not there

You can now. People asked for it and it was granted. That was a while ago.
 
I like the new chat, my only complaint is there’s not as many rooms as the old chat has/had. I know more rooms will be added as time moves on but right now I’m staying with the old chat until it gets shut down completely or a room that fits my tastes/preferences is added to the new one. I’d like to see a room that is geared towards fantasies and fetishes.

There are significantly more rooms (added recently) in new chat, as well as all the same rooms as in old chat, since day one.
