I was with some buddies during the launch and all the commentators and folks were talking about how people were united during Apollo - and that was true to a large extent. But I said "a rat done bit my sister Nell" and they looked at me. So just as a reminder:

Once (on another site) I started a chat room for friends titled "insurance law review" to keep out trolls and random dick flashers. It worked. Unexpectedly, the people who did wander in had a sense of curiosity and humor so were welcomed.
I went Christmas shopping with no ideas and proved Yogi Berra's point: if you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else
I got over my addiction to chocolate, marshmallows, and nuts. It was a rocky road.
The son of my friend asked me for career advice. I said to be aware of what you're good at and be willing to delegate the rest.

Getting old I've been thinking a lot about the "here-after." Every time I walk into a room, I stop to think "what am I here after?"
The guy in front of me at store left his breath mints on the counter. The cashier said I could have them...but I have abandoned mint issues.
