Newb question here - I can attach photos as a file ( normally after a resize) but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to insert gifs or photos into a post?? WTF?

For some reason yesterday n today whenever i post a picture into a chat room or dm they seem to come out sideways. They never did this before. Have I changed a setting somewhere?

When I try to upload a picture in chat is tells me "chrome is not responding" and just shows a white screen where Id normally see the option to use my camera to take a new picture or select a picture from my gallery. I was able to upload picture in chat up until a co I please days ago but now am...
