What's your favorite animal? Post a pick, fact or something unique about an animal. The only rule is that it has to be a real life animal (not plant), real pic, fact, etc.

I ❤ giraffes! Maybe it's because they're cute and kinda awkward looking at the same time. Idk. But it's cool af that they have 18-20 inch (45-50 cm) long tongues!!! Hellll yeah that would definitely come in handy for several reasons lol!!

Sloths have gained a lot of popularity recently. I have to admit the stuffed animals are much cuter than most of the photos I've seen lol. But hell, I'd love to sleep 15, Yes FIFTEEN hours every day!!

Most people know they're slow af but did you know they only come down from the trees about once a week? They're surprisingly really good swimmers too

Some day I'd love to see them in the wild. As beautiful as they are to see up close, it always feels wrong that they are in such a small space at the zoo :(

  1. Tigers do not live in permanent groups like lions do. For the most part, they live solitary lives except when females are raising cubs. Although rarely seen, the term for a group of tigers is a "streak."

Was happy there was a thick plane of glass between us. Because as sweet as he looks don’t think this guy would give a gentle cuddle.

The vampire squid is a deep sea creature that can grow up to 12 inch (30 cm) in length. It's color ranges from a velvety black to pale red depending on location and lighting.

The name of this animal was inspired by its dark color, cloak-like webbing, and red eyes, rather than habit—it feeds on detritus, not blood. *Pheww!

The largest populations of Bengal tiger are in India. National Animal of India. Also called Royal Bengal Tiger. Lives like Royal and with family. The morphology of the Bengal tiger is beautiful and imposing. It is a mammal with thick legs, strong teeth and jaws and coat with the characteristic coloration pattern. In this regard, its skin shows a yellow to light orange color that in the belly and the internal areas of the legs becomes white or cream. Males are typically larger and heavier than females.The Bengal tiger is in danger of extinction, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). That's really sucks due to paoching. This Big Cat I Love. They are So Cute. <3

In 1861, Lincoln received gifts, including elephant tusks and a handmade sword, from Siam's King Somdetch Phra Paramendr Maha Mongkut. The king of present-day Thailand also made an interesting offer: Mongkut proposed that Siam would send pairs of male and female elephants to the U.S. to breed in the forests. Americans could then tame the wild elephants and put them to work for the economic benefit of the country. William Seward, Lincoln's secretary of state, replied to Mongkut in 1862, graciously declining his offer. He told the king that since the U.S. already used steam power to efficiently transport goods within the country, elephants simply wouldn't be practical.

Panda Bears have always been a favorite wild animal of mine. I just think they're just so beautiful and the babies are just adorable!

Facts
Pandas are BIG eaters – every day they fill their tummies for up to 12 hours, shifting up to 12 kilograms of bamboo!

Baby pandas are born pink and measure about 15cm – that’s about the size of a pencil! They are also born blind and only open their eyes six to eight weeks after birth.

Instead of sleeping through the night, wild pandas take naps after eating that last two to four hours. In the summertime, they can nap for six or more hours. They don’t care about the position they sleep in, either. They can snooze on their backs, sides, or bellies; curled up in a ball; or all sprawled out.
