Who doesn't have a much loved cartoon series from their childhood or a feature that has wowed them? Whether its anime, Disney, Tex Avery or Warner Bros, the span is enormous

After sitting through the increasingly exhausting live-action Michael Bay Transformers movies, my parents introduced me to the original cartoon and movie from the 80s. Not as slick or polished to be sure, but infinitely more entertaining in terms of story and personality

One of my favourite films of all time. Anything Gen 1 transformers is amazing anyway, but the soundtrack, an animation are amazing.

Dare, Instruments of Destruction, Death of Optimus Prime, allll amazing in their own ways
And Dare to Be Stupid :D

But ya they ofc showed me the first two seasons of the show first, and then the movie was such a huge upgrade in scale, can only imagine how kids' minds were blown watching it in the theater! Til Op died and they all were devastated and traumatized ofc :(

I'm sure it wasn't meant to be, but this is kind of adorable ^_^ They're so round!
Much of the animation was more Tex Avery in style than would ever be normaly considered. It was the second anime to make its way out of Japan to the English speaking world with Kimba the White Lion being the first. Both very different in storyline from their source material.
Morty (Rick & Morty) has a Gigantor model on the shelf above his bed.

Walking - Ryan Larkin

All hand drawn straight from Larkin's brilliant mind and received an Oscar nomination in 1968 for Best Short Film (Animation). Sadly its success ended up destroying him through addiction, he couldn't better it. I could only do it justice by linking in the full film. Watch it and see pure creative genius play out before your eyes.

Porco Rosso - Hayao Miyazaki

The oddball Miyazaki film and my fave of his. The flight of the dead war pilots scene has always choked me up, even just looking at this still does.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law - Adult Swim

When Ted Turner bought Hanna-Barbera so many great cartoons were just left to be forgotten on a shelf, these guys gave them new life.
