Animation - cartoons to features and everything inbetween

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (ep.072) - Tatsuo Yoshida

With a response like that how could I not dig out an original episode with English subtitles.

Mattie the Goose Boy (aka Matt the Gooseboy, Lúdas Matyi) - Attila Dargay (Presented with the National Film Institute Hungary – Film Archive)

A young peasant boy named Mattie (or Matt or Matyi, depends on which version you're watching) stands up to tyranny, in the shape and form of Lord Blackheart, he is aided by his trusting friend - a goose.

This animated feature is one for the ages as it begins with a monstrous injustice, where Mattie gets the goose taken away by Lord Blackheart. Years later, Mattie, now older disguised himself as the stranger from Italy. Then humiliated Blackheart. Now it was Mattie vs Blackheart and his men. He and his men suspected every witch was the famed Mattie the Gooseboy, even the Circus Bear was questioned. Even other geese were not off scotfree as Blackheart Suspected anyone could be the Rebellious Hero known as Mattie the Gooseboy.

I have viewed the English Dub and Hungarian Dub of the feature film. I use the Hungarian Dub as background noise at work when I'm cleaning the lone toilet in the restroom, or use it as a bedtime story when relaxing. I also use it at home when I'm using it as a bedtime story to relax, or decompressing with some weed/CBD gummies to relax.

However, the English dub is hard to find, unless on the Internet Archive or a Physical VHS or DVD (Yes, the dub was on DVD in the late 90s).

Here is the English Dub trailer from the end of Captain of the Forest 1994 VHS, could also be dated back as 1984 coinciding with the FHE VHS release.

Stop and Go (Motion)

I thought I'd take a different tack for today and present something a bit more along the the technical lines of animation. Hence stop and go motion - the software called GoMotion is merely a portmanteau created so as to get a copyright on the name. Anyway, I know there will be a wide variety of knowledge out there on this subject so hopefully it will help give some insight into the way things once worked.

Laputa: Castle in the Sky - Hayao Miyazaki

The name and concept for the 'castle in the sky' came originally from Jonathan Swift, which Gulliver found on his many journeys. Quite different inhabitants though.

Mouse in the Kitchen (s2 ep1) - Rex the Runt (Aardman)

Most only really know Aardman for Wallace & Gromit or Chicken Run, but they had some really weird stuff as well. This is some of it, s1 ep1 is in the comedy channel.

Well here I go again, in my own inevitable way missing the 1st birthday of the second thread (as well as the first, sheesh) I started here - at least it shows consistency if even not a particularly helpful one. Odd thing is I am crap at remembering birthdays (and particular dates in general) in real life as well, much to the semi annoyance of friends and family and making my own life harder when trying to study and write essays on ancient and modern history. Oh well.
My thanks to all who have helped keep this thread alive and interesting and to those who enjoy visiting to see what they find to be new or to renew memories from childhood.

A special thanks to @HornyIsh69 for his unique and significant contributions and commentaries which I have personally found insightful and filling a gap I would never have been able to. Big time thanks mate.

Be well and happy everyone!
V xoxo
