Once in Chat, I said I do not see MHA as a great series, I got tons of hate. It is a mediocre series and with its toxic fanbase, it just gets worse. If anything else, I can say it is one series where side-characters are more interesting than the protagonist.
a) All humans get powers and when our hero was told by a doctor, he had none, what did our protagonist do? He did not boost his physical prowess but just watched feel-good videos. There are many parallels whether it was Naruto or Asta (Naruto and Black Clover) where a person is relatively powerless compared to the rest of the society, they strive to compensate for the lack of things.
b) The guy gets his power literary on a platter, he did not do anything for it. Moreover, why Deku got the Power is not justified. He was not selfless in saving a friend from the slime-monster. Selfless is when you can do something for others and when you have some bit of probability of success. Selfless is also when you can throw your self in danger but have a chance to save someone else. Deku did not have any chance of saving anyone, instead, he would give the foe two people as hostages. Even the anime itself gives a comparison, with Vermillion. And, whether it is hard work, intelligence, perseverance, ideals, or physical strength our protagonist does not stand before him.
c) When someone has an issue of not having great power, e.g. One Piece, frankly, Luffy is an elastic man or Naruto who had no special powers, to begin with, we go on a journey of their self-discovery, getting stronger and there is a mystique on how they will become head of the village or of the pirate kingdom. All the while the power to dream ratio just does not seem to be possible. In the case of Deku, he was given Kryptonite-less Superman’s power right at the start. All he has to do is get stronger physically and all is done. The only journey he has to go on is to become Arnold Schwarzenegger.
d) Even physically if he worked out for a long time to attain a-bit of the power, he lost all silly sports tournament in his class. You lose running/sprinting against an invisible girl? There is something wrong with you.
e) The Protagonist always has self-doubts, he then goes into 5 mins of contemplation, then thinks of heroes he wants to be like, then comes some music and he beats the foe. – This cycle when happens for the first time it is awesome, however, when it is a forever cycle it just is too much.
f) There are just endless student-tournaments which do not do much for the story, they are just repetitive for no reason. All the tournaments etc bring around 20-30 new characters, and their quirks and then all these people just disappear you never hear from them.
g) Lastly, most fights of MHA are boring on technicalities. It’s like Superman fights, there is a lot of heart and emotions and effects, but all you would see in the end who has a bigger punch. Kick, throw, punch through things – that’s it.
h) It is just an ok series at best.
Noblesse – Only has Manhua as of now. There is one OVA which was released a while ago. Post that many studios have been trying to make an Animated version. Supposedly we might get an Anime next year or so. Till then we only have the comic, but the comic but is super fun.
I remembered you like Vampire stuff, thus was suggested. and their art is to my liking.
