Ask Me Anything Ask Me A Question Intro

Who’s your favorite author and why?
I honestly don't have one..how terrible is that?
Many moons ago I've read all the old classics like Mark Twain's work, Maya Angelou, Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, Dickens, Alcott etc
But I never followed any of them enough to be a fangirl. It was just isolated/ selective reading

Oh, Cool answer and I'm so with you on that but I meant blow your mind As in "OMG WOW, I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT" in a good way :p Oops
·Amazing powerful singing voices. Particularly when they have a soulful voice and can play the piano as well. It's a talent combo, I sooo wished I had.

·Weird quirky facts always amuse me. I like a good shocking surprise.

·The ocean. While most people find space astonishing because theres so much unknown. I look at the oceans here on Earth, more fascinating. A fact suggested that less than 5% of the planet's oceans have been explored? And you wonder how many mysteries and stories the waters hold. How much unknown species are yet to be discovered.

·behavior of specific species is fascinating. I remember catching a little on the story of an orca pod. Who had created their own technique and way to hunt and kill great white sharks. Just visualizing great white sharks as the prey is amazing enough. Anywho the pod would form a circle around the great white, as one orca came from below and slowly forced the shark towards the surface of the water.
Kinda remarkable the ingenuity wildlife creates to survive.

·talented little ones. The little Albert Einsteins of the World who are incredibly smart or artistically talented

·people with an insane sharp memory that just absorbs information or memories and doesn't forget.

If I think of anything else. I'll add later ;)

1. Has there been an event (local, national, or worldwide) that led you to reconsidering your views or even changing your views?

2. Much lighter... Do you consider yourself a good cook and what is the best meal you can make?

I think perspective about gun laws has been the biggest thing thats changed about me in the last decade or so.
I use to own a handgun and was all for the right to bear arms. But many personal experiences not excluding Nationwide incidents, has made me realize theres too much leniency.
To me the 2 biggest factors that complicates this amendment, is mental health issues and alcohol consumption.
Anyone who claims otherwise, hasn't been on the wrong side of the barrel when someone is having an utter meltdown

Aha, actually I don't. I joke with people alot about being a mediocre cook. I think cooking is a talent to some degree? Some people are just born naturals. They are creative, experimental, and have that magic touch. I cook often. Least few times a week. But it's never been my strong suit, to where Im the volunteer in bringing fancy dishes to parties :p
Only time I go the extra mile is for the holidays, or special occasions. Then I put extra time and effort to make sure it's decent on the palate.

Best meal I throw together is probably my pork tenderloin, potato salad, corn on the cob, homemade biscuits, and garden green beans.

I slow cook my green beans for hours with some salted pork, smidgen of lard, and seasonings. I like to slow cook my tenderloin till it falls apart. Then broil with some tangy bbq sauce
Potato salad is a good pickle taste. Mostly mayo, smidgen of mustard, potatoes, lots of diced dill pickles, boiled eggs, yellow onion.

Bada bing!

I used to own a gun myself. Got rid of it a while ago and haven't had one since. I do believe in the premise people should have a right to defend themselves by any means necessary. Does that mean I believe everyone should have a right to a gun? It doesn't... I definitely think there should be restrictions, more than what there is currently.

The issue is not as not as cut and dry as many people like to make it out to be. Most people seem to be on one of two sides... Either you believe the gun laws are too stringent or they are way too lenient. I'm sort of in the middle. I think gun laws should be more stringent, but not completely take away the right to own a gun.

I can absolutely see your perspective about the complications of the amendment. Can't say I been in the same position as you since I haven't. I can only imagine being on the wrong side of a barrel in that situation and it seems terrifying.

I would say I'm probably a medicore cook, at best. There are a few items I cook extremely well. I can make a good baked salmon and filet mignon. Also I'm not bad at making home made pizza. I can make an okay pot of chili. I do make a pretty good hamburger on the grill. Oh and I can make a halfway decent sweet potato... But that is pretty simple anyways.

Oh my damn it you made me so hungry reading this!!! I LOVE a good pork tenderloin, even more so if it has BBQ on it! Oh and the green beans sounds AMAZING!!!! I generally just do my green beans with salt, pepper, a dash of brown sugar, little but of butter, and some paprika, but damn your green beans sound so good. Makes me want to have some tonight lol.

The biscuits... Bread is just yummy! Damn it, I love food too much!

I generally stay away from potato salad because of allergy to mayo (eggs), but it still sounds good!

Thanks for sharing your mouth watering best dish!

Seems like we agree on the situation

I can only imagine being on the wrong side of a barrel in that situation and it seems terrifying
Definitely. Few stories I could share..but I doubt Id ever let that much rawness loose on the forum. Sadly, some lurk and use revelations as ammo, to be spiteful later.

Some common things here. I just made home made pizza other night. (Was gonna upload to forum and forgot.) I think my chili is pretty delish, cheeseburgers I do often. Course I love my gravy n biscuits :p
Meatloaf seems to be one thing that I never get 'perfect'. Idk why, but it ends up too dry, too moist, not enough flavoring etc. And it sucks because meatloaf is one of my favs
The green beans are really good that way. Little meat flavoring and all the seasonings. Sometimes I make that as my whole meal. No lie
I quarter up some potatoes with the green beans to cook down, bake a pan of cornbread. Yum
Oh, I do think I make good cornbread ;)

I was thinking and craving today, having some smoked sausage with sauerkraut. Mashed potatoes and slice of cornbread on the side.

Thanks for sharing your mouth watering best dish!
Lol no, thank you mister. You and some others have given me a chance to show a lil substance. Have good convo, and do something outside of the norm. Im thankful for the new experience. Truly

P.s. I imagine an egg allergy complicates eating

Guidance Counselor at my old Elementary School.
My heart still is back home, always. I have compassion for struggling kids, know lots of the faculty there, would like to see my old community helped in a positive way.
We need more caring people like you in this world, everyone seems to be out for themselves these days:)

It's funny bc lots of people from rural small towns, always want to escape. I left but miss home all the time. Things change, I've changed, but part of me always holds onto the nostalgia and memories there. Lots of the people too

Like they always say, home is where the heart is and your heart belongs at home it seems like so good luck with all of that:)

Unfortunately some people just come out of no where with stuff when you put yourself out there. It is a shame this happens because it would be nice to share as much as you felt without having to worry about people throwing it in your face at a later point in time. It's one of the reasons why I keep some things to myself as I am sure others do. While there are definitely some fantastic people here, there are also some mean, spiteful, and vengeful people here.

Smoked sausage and sauerkraut... I just ate, but damn does that sound good! Been too long since I have had smoked sausage in any kind of dish.

You are quite welcome, but the one to thank is you for taking the time to provide detailed, informed, and witty responses. While it is great to be silly, play games, and have fun here, it is also rather refreshing to do something a bit different.
