If you could change one decision in your life, what would it be?

If you could change one decision in your life, what would it be?
There was a story once told by an author. He was recalling the events of a man, who owned a goat.

The man gets a phone call that his goat was laying dead in a ditch. The man goes to the area. Only to realize the goat isn't dead..but by some cruel kidnapping. The goats legs had been tied. It was then thrown into the ditch.

The man gets out his knife. Cuts the ropes, freeing the goat. He then slaps it on the butt, telling it to get up.

But the goat just laid there.
He tried a second time...and a 3rd. The goat still laid with its legs motionless.

Its at this point the man realizes, the goat still thinks its bound. So he pulls its legs apart, picks it up and sets it on its feet.

Then the goat REALIZED it was free.

.....if I could change anything. I would rewind time back to 6 years ago.
Instead of laying down and letting emotions convince me of defeat....Get up and walk. And stop acting like a prisoner to circumstance

Sometimes we don't understand the consequences of giving up. And we look at the mountain top, thinking the climb is too high. The journey too hard
-Instead of hoping for whats on the other side

It was truly one of my most regrettable mistakes.

Hmm there was never a question of whether I was bisexual. I always knew that. The real struggle was growing up in a religious family and rural town. Knowing it was not socially acceptable. I was too uncomfortable to even explore my sexuality.

I was still too uncomfortable at 19. It took the other person initiating. And she was the one who made me realize that public life can be very different versus private life. And that what you enjoyed behind closed doors, was ok. And people don't have to be included into your personal business. It made me loosen up

So 19 was kinda my awakening year.

I still never sexually peaked till my late 20s. I became more settled into what I liked.

But even coming into the online world. Has still opened my mind to new possibilities.

Its amazing how something can seem unappealing. Until the right person presents it.

This was extremely insightful. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Sometimes I feel like the strict social construct we live in stifles the true inner selves many of us possess. So it's always inspiring to hear stories like yours about people stepping into the unknown and finding themselves and realizing it's ok. :)

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your younger self if you could go back in time?

Just open up and talk to someone.

Even tho I'm mostly an open book. There's been many personal things over the years. That I have refused to ever make myself vulnerable with or open to possible critique.
Regardless of how close people have been to me.
Its a struggle with pride and fear. But it leaves regret each time. Because a burden shared, is a burden halved. Others can sometimes help, if we allow them to.

How many truly regrettable moments have you had in your life on Fcn ?
Many LOL
Im perfectly flawed...
Anything and everything. From getting attached, losing my filter, wearing rose tinted glasses, etc

These near 3 years has been a major metamorphosis. Some wisdom has to be gained by expierence alone
