This Is The Best - USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker)

"On your way out, turn the lights out
Take your supermodels and your broken beer bottles
I don't care, party anywhere, I'm broke, man, possibly beyond repair
This is the best, this is the best, my head is such a fucking mess
This is the best, crack-house arrest, my head's a mess"

I'll resist the temptation to spam you all with the Plumtree catalog but here's the first song of theirs, it's rumored, that O'Malley heard (coincidentally happens to be from a CD that Santa slipped into my daughter's Christmas stocking one year.)
Plumtree - In the Sink

If this was what spam was like, then I'd actually look forward to getting it. Way cool track. But I must admit to being totally ignorant on the O'Malley reference. I can be just as thick as anyone else.

Sorry there @Vanessa_Agogo - I had seen some earlier posts about there being Scott Pilgrim fans here and well... sometimes I don't remember that other people can't hear what I hear in my head that makes the connections - lol. And, thanks @saturnine for filling in my goof-up.

Thread: I was digging deep in Randy Bachman's catalog for a post here and found this one he wrote - a "new" one for me

Stop Teasing Me

Its a great film that I enjoy revisiting and even though I haven't read the book I know I would've seen all those names in the credits numerous times. Like I said, I can be as thick as anyone else. Your assignation of 'new' (only need inverted commas as opposed to quotation marks as its not an actual quotation but still wanting emphasis - sorry, grammatical pedantry slippng out lol) music is spot on, anything and everything you haven't heard before is exactly that - new music. You won't know if it'll leave you cold or grab you by the scruff of the neck and take you somewhere amazing until you listen to it, no matter the when, where or why of its creation. Imposed constraints upon those three attributes so sorely limits the wonderment that music and all the arts bring to our lives and mindset.

I also put the title of songs in italics rather than using quotation marks. I guess I like chaos. It was my upbringing. As a young boy I was allowed to read my mom's book of poems by e e Cummings. I was liberated. Until, that is, in school my teachers informed me that I was not allowed the same latitude. That injustice made me what I am today. ;)

Love your style. ¶;•)

A throwback to the 90s. Saw these guys playing carpet dive bars in a blue collar town as they came up. Developed a following in the local area and nationally eventually, and a bit internationally in the States and Australia. I don’t think many would know them. Here’s their highest charter I believe:

My favourite lyric
drugged to delight.

Although not allowed to see this in US (no wonder we are so messed up - lol), the lyric led me to The Tea Party's Temptation

I had forgotten about this next band until their "smash hit" "Barbra" came up on my random shuffle. Here is a TV appearance with a stupid interview in the middle where the guy tries to put Mary Armstrong on the spot about her stage name. You all are too young to have lived through Chappaquiddick but later when the coward Ted Kennedy tried to run for El Comandante in 1980 it reignited sympathy for Mary Jo and disdain for the powerful, unaccountable politicians. I'll leave it at that - here's the music:

Ahh, a good reminder to post the band and title. Thanks MuchAdo.

Yes Metric!

Combat Baby - Metric

I think this was Metric's first single

Bumping this thread for @Maddiemoiselle
Doesn't need a bump as it's going strong, but I'll bump it with Canadian content whenever it needs it.
