I did clear my cache/history and it seemed to not work. Would I be better off making a new account?
You want to clear, cookies, cache, data and/or data related specifically to FCN. History is irrelevant—it's just a list of URL's you've visited. If you see New Login tips upon entering chat, you've successfully deleted data related to FCN.
Creating a new profile is never a solution and may lead to new issues.
If creating a new profile has resolved your issue, it's because you're now operating with new Website data and cookies related to FCN.
A different browser would also have helped.
Note, FireFox doesn't perform well with chat. Mozilla has enshittified their project in the last few years, including monetization of bookmarks, which introduced lag and other malfunctions.
Better performing mainstream and OEM browsers:
1. Edge.
2. Chrome
3. Safari
Niche browsers like Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, etc, come with their own arbitrary quirks and bugs which prevent some common code from executing correctly or as intended.
