No it definitely isn't but broad classification is not the answer there are some demented people out there. But not every sexual offender is a pedophile or rapist and the media has created mass panic when in fact there is no definite answer I have a children two girls one boy ages 3-10 n if anybody hurt them I'd be doing life without parole. But there are individuals that make mistakes is it fair for them? Several states have determined that chemical castration is not the answer

As a parent and a former victim, I find no reason why anyone should be given a second chance for a "Mistake".

How can child abuse be a mistake "I´m sorry your honour, I didn´t realise it was wrong to feel sexually attracted to a minor".

It doesn't matter whether they are first time offenders or not. And most sex offenders caught have committed the crime before . But does it really matter? Are you saying that child molesters and rapists should be given leeway in sentencing , like someone who stole a car for the first time ? Bullshit. They deserve to spend as much time in prison as possible. You're defense of them is disgusting. I get what you are saying about people lieing about their age but that rarely happens. Most sex offenders deserve to be in prison and if it was proven that chemical castration worked I'd be fine with it for the most serious offenses. I don't actually believe it would though . But there are no ' mitigating circumstances' as TV lawyers say for sex offenders. We can sentence someone to life for drug dealing when drugs sell themselves but should have mercy on a sex offender? Nah I'll pass give those pieces of shit the maximum sentence and let the booty bandits in the prison have their fun.

Your view is a little obscure of course I don't want a pedophile or a rapist around my children or anyone elses for that matter. However serious inquiries need to be met before you throw someone away like that. Additionally there is a difference between a sex offender and a pedophile/rapist I know a guy serving life on the registry for pinching a hooter girls ass. And he served 2 years the lady didn't want to press charges but the company did. Pedophiles and rapists sure if it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt as we are all entitled yeah castrate them but all sexual offenders are not pedophiles or rapists and the public should be aware of this if you were to see an individual on Megan's law for life with the charge of sexual assault u would assume that he committed some atrocious offense when in reality all he did was pinch a womans bottom that was the charge they don't tell you anything more at least in pa they don't so not everything is as straight forward as you would like it to be and since we are talking about other offenders what about thieves? Liars? DRUG DEALERS? Alot of drug offenders get life not because of the amount of drugs but the repetitiveness of their offending should they not be branded to are we not all born equal do we not all make poor decisions at some point in our lives? you should contact a group called W.A.R. (women against registries) they are a pretty big player in the litigation of these current developments concerning the registration of sexual offenders so should pedophiles and rapists be castrated yes but you can't lump all sexual offenders into that category and one needs to be aware that not all offenders are pedophiles or rapists my logic is sound not disgusting just because you cannot see that the media has warped public opinion in this arena to suit there own purposes then you are blind how often do you hear about sex offenders not that often, but pedophiles all the time!! That was one long ass rant . Bottom line I have no sympathy for sex offenders period. No one gets life for pinching a girl's ass. There is more to it than that or it's a lie . Sex offenders deserve no mercy or consideration. They didn't have any for their victims they should get none in return. Yes some crimes are more serious than others. But there is no grey area. It's black and white as it can get .

I looked at all his paperwork, I am a paralegal, he got life on the registry because sexual assault is a lifetime offense in Pennsylvania. If you think everything is so black and white you have obviously not lived because all of life is grey. The reason that is is because and I don't want to get into philosophy but no one person has the same thoughts even if similar in nature one person's truth is different than the next because the only thing that is constant in life is change. I pitty your existence of u just believe everything you are told to believe

No I didn't . I never said they all deserve they same punishment. A peeping Tom doesn't deserve life in prison a rapist does . But none deserve sympathy or a lenient sentence. If the penalty for subway groping in a state is six months , six months it should be . If the penalty for more serious sex crime is 50 years it should be fifty years . Of course there will always be plea bargains but no one should get of light like Brock Turner did . Because they are wealthy or ' made a mistake' . That girl will never be the same because of his ' mistake ' . His clean record prior to that crime should not have mattered .

Wtf are you talking about. I'm not talking about life in general. I'm talking about one subset of crimes . And if sex assault carries life in prison in PA then maybe , just maybe people shouldn't go around sexually assaulting people. If they don't then guess what ? They don't get life in prison.

You are a lier. Sex assault in PA is a second degree felony punishable by a maximum ten year sentence. I looked it up in the Pennsylvania legal code . You are not a paralegal either or you would have known that .You are just someone who wants to defend these people for some reason . I have my suspicions why but won't state them , because it could be a violation of TOU . But I think it's obvious you have a personal stake in this for a reason or you wouldn't lie to try and prove your point.

Actually my comment of it (chemical or other castration) not being a suitable punishment was making the point that lives are ruined by these people.
I was sexually assaulted at the age of 8 and I lived with the irrational terror of my "assailant" returning for 38 years until I finally had the courage to tell someone about it.
38 years of nightmares.
Illogical as it was I was gripped with nightmares EVERY night until I finally found the courage to tell a friend, now please explain your logic to me in clearer terms, coz sure as shit I know what a victim feels like.

Yes it is a second degree felony and Pennsylvania code is just that Pennsylvania code... The laws surrounding Megan's law/SORNA requires and individual to register for life for the offense of sexual assault. 18 Pa.C.S.A (sex assault) requires that an individual register for life under 42 Pa.C.SA. 9799.14(d) look it up before you take and try to skew anything that I say. All I am attempting to do is gather evidence of everyone's ignorance, and stop the over registration of individuals that have been victimized by the registration while you're looking things up read Commonwealth vs. Jose muniz 2017 u will be surprised

I was victimized at 3 I don't remember it however an innocent man payed for the crime and the actual perpetrator we t Scott free until he victimized my brother and died in prison from a stab wound fitting yes however an innocent man,my grandfather has had his life fucked up and my family was torn apart. I know that no amount of feeling sorry for you or myself will do anything. My most favorite quote is if you have time enough to bitch and moan about something you have time enough to do something about it. Your Illogical reaction was just that however it's how you dealt with it. Innocent men and women sit in prison every day fighting and have done nothing wrong if my cause to end this is illogical then this system has brain washed the masses more so than I originally thought
