Do Americans care about the 189 other countries

Ok I am not American I'm from a small island nation in the South Pacific. From our perspective it is that America has a lot of sway in global politics but the average American is pretty oblivious to the otherwise world and would struggle to give a decent answer to forfeit countries and how their government runs!

The average American doesn't know how our government is supposed to work . And you expect us to know about other countries? Haha
The point is still there - the influence the US has over the politics, economy and culture is massive. I chatted to an American friend ages ago and he said Americans vote in their own self interest which is a candidate with a good domestic policy. That fine for someone like me whose international presence is small but the average American needs to know they aren't just voting for themselves but for the rest of the world as well.

That's not realistic. Everyone everywhere votes in their own self interests. Why would you expect anything different from us? Do you think our enemies vote with our interests in mind? Of course not . A good foreign policy is important. We will pay the price for the shit show we have now in that regard. But you live in a fairytale if you think people will vote with the rest of the world's interests in mind .

@SexyAsianBitch has a good point. We have our own issues right now . Our political system is a mess . As is our society. Do you really want us involved with anyone or anything else @MajorJim007 ? Honestly you should be more concerned that the hawks in our government don't convince the Cheeto that we need war or military strikes on anyone. If we manage to not do that you should count yourself thankful. War will wreck the markets more than anything else we do.

Now that just simply isn't true. People in America vote exactly how Smurf tells them to vote ha ha

I agree the system is out of balance totalling. The point of the questions is do voters in America know about the outside at all and do the if ever take that into account. I think the average voter in America doesn't understand the influence America has had and still does have on the rest of the world. It's a shit place to be but as world leaders it's what happens

the answer is no. I remember a friend of mine teaching accounting gave her students a quiz:

1. who is the prime minister of Japan
2 who is the El Comandante of France
3. who is the El Comandante of Mexico
4. what is the USA top import
5. What country imports the most to USA
6. What is the USA top export
7. Where does the USA get most of its oil
8. How many shootings were there in the last month
9. Who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave
10. Who lives in a Pineapple under the sea

Want to guess what the average of that little quiz was?

I've already told you the answer is no. And the world leaders part is ceasing to be true. The U.S is withdrawing from the world stage and as we do so our infuence will shrink . Russia and China are filling the void we are leaving, and the E.U is adjusting to protect themselves. You are living in the past tense. Our infuence will only be because of our economy and military. But those are not leadership. Those just mean we are powerful enough to defend ourselves and try to protect our markets . And that will not change once Tr.ump is gone . We have lost all credibility and it will not come back . You need to get used to a different kind of world order.

It's ridiculous @MajorJim007 that you think that people here would care about the rest of the world when they vote . There are more than 300 million people, 50 states and thousands of local governments. And I bet if I asked 20 people in my county how our government worked and who represented there part of the county they wouldn't all know. And you are asking people to think about the rest of the world? Lol
