Comedically, politicians appear to be controlled by those whom they are dependent upon for the massive amounts of currency apparently needed for reelection, rather than true needs and desires of their constituency. And the lines as to what is the constituency have blurred dramatically considering all the legalities regarding citizenship versus inhabitants of late.
When legal donations that one knows of top 140 million, politicians admit to being beholden to benevolent benefactors whom paid for their college degrees and initial campaign finances, one can only see that the system has been for some time a horribly rigged macabre international consortium like any other business venture; he have returned to the days of feudalism, with the exception the manorial fields are no longer confined geographically; they are international. The serfs are plowing the fields virtually, whilst the nobility maneuver scheme and consolidate power like never before.
The most disturbing trend to all of this however, has been the coordinated chaos and systematic restructuring of the judiciary and the hamstringing of law enforcement efforts internationally, rendering the constabulary ineffective while unprecedented criminal activities with often no punishment meted out free reign, at the expense of constituents personal safety.
Some of us remember what things were like before the new normal, and while there were shady dealings and terrible things done back then, there were also self-imposed checks and balances of what was acceptable and non-acceptable, and there were lines drawn that even hardened criminals in organized crime would not cross. Today, there are no rules, so long as you don't get caught breaking them, or have the monetary fortune to hire the appropriate legal council; the rest must either persevere by their wits or talent, or slip thru the cracks with the hope of mercy in an increasingly corrupt society, relying on the benevolence of others.
Ironically, everything happening today has already happened in the past; it's like shades of the fall of the Roman empire. Something else will arise from the ashes in time, but one can only image the good that could be put to use with all the money that is spent doing so much ill.
