Hi!

My name’s Kaitie and I’m very new to chat rooms, and quite shy!

I’m postgrad and exited to start a new course. I started out as a sound designer but am transitioning over to writing, as it’s what I wanted to do from the start

I like to read, watch tv & films as well as playing games!

Feel free to ask me anything! I’m excited at the prospect of making new friends

Hi there! Welcome to the site! May I know a bit more about the sound designer aspect of you? (I do professional work in recording studios - guessing that you are deep in that) :)

I started out at university as mainly a writer, but kinda got pushed into sound haha. I’ve worked on a few short films as well as personal projects, each one with me being the sole ‘sound’ person whether that be just working in a studio mixing or in the field recording :) My proudest accomplishment might be having a big library of foley assets I made

Fantastic! With the achievements and career progress in sound designing that you have charted this far, I hope you will still carry on even in the midst of your Masters. Yup - the foley asset would be precious - imagine all the years of hard looking and efforts you have invested to add to your archive!

Welcome to FCN sweetheart, you might find something here that will interest you...if not then there is people to chat with. What sort of writing do you enjoy doing? As in video games or board games ?

The foley really is massively helpful haha, any project I work on I make sure to add new recordings to the catalogue, who knows when I might randomly need a heartbeat or something

I like to write fiction and worldbuild , mainly historical or science fiction.

video games, I’ve never really played board games, or like played them when I was really young haha

Science fiction sounds fun, I'm sure that you make great stories.

Mass Effect is one of my favourite gaming franchises, not played GoW

If I ever get around to typing up some drafts, you can be the judge haha

I’m playing through ME Legendary at the minute, finding sooooo much more stuff since I’m taking my time with it

Gears is great, I mainly love it for its story, and chainsaws are fun haha

I would actually like that, and I will be honest in my opinion.vb

I want to play that so badly, plus with all the DLC included...it'll take ages to finish (which you would want in a game)

I've no Xbox to play GoW

Oh cool! I’m wanting to move over to writing too :) But doing stuff with sound massively opened my eyes to the labours that go into tv/films, so I have a whole other level of appreciation haha

Welcome. My daughter graduated with a degree in sound design. She is now a preschool teacher. Again, welcome and don’t be so shy.
