One of my favorite bits of music knowledge is that Lynryd Skynyrd is from Jacksonville, Florida, not Alabama.
This song was written in response to Neil Young's 'Southern Man'. In reality their's no conflict between the songwriters, but
they are both artists expressing valid points of their experiences. Since I'm new here, I'll add that I'm a Florida native, long-term activist against
racism. Student and big fan of all civil rights progress from before I was born, and continue to champion equality for all...and I like Rock'n'Roll.
To contribute to the conversation: A song that cheers me up is Neil Diamond - Red, Red Wine.
