Wow… Phoenix Suns are getting absolutely annihilated by Luka and the Mavs in Game 7 of the conference semifinals. It was 57-27 at halftime! FD496AF8-F1C5-4F03-9DE0-9FBEF0D0F8C2.jpeg This is insane, now both finalists from last year are out before the Conference Finals

the mavs won that game in the first quarter, like luka said after one of the other games, “everybody wanna act tough when they up”, the suns got behind early and looked like a deer in headlights. draymond green called chris paul's clippers “front runners” years ago and that could be said about this suns team. not that it’s his fault despite playing poorly in most of games (while injured possibly) but it’s embarrassing to go out like this in a game 7 on your home court as the best team in the league. the mavs adapted well to tire out chris paul on both sides of the floor and limit their main weapons but i expected a bounce back which didn’t come. the bucks losing was expected, it was surprising that they even pushed it to 7 to me.

other than that, luka could be on the brink of the most impressive “solo” finals run to the playoffs since lebron in 2007, the warriors should hold their own, but ive underestimated dallas before…

It's not insane the Bucks lost because they were still playing hard in the second half of Game 7. It's just insane how as you said the Suns "looked like a deer in headlights." WTF happened psychologically to this group?

Last thing I saw from that game was when Ayton missed a couple put-backs right at the rim. He didn't go in with force as he should have. I turned the TV off right then and there.

Ayton won't get a max contract now. I just hope for a sign and trade for his rights.

I hope the entire team is embarrassed about that game for the rest of their careers. That was pathetic as a junior high squad pulled from the stands could play.

I feel it's going to be Golden State over Boston for finals.

i feel like the fact that book was talking so much trash with the “luka special” thing whenever he’d fall to the ground and all the other extra stuff when they were up in that series came back to bite him mentally, he was -41 in that last game, like seriously?

i think ayton would get his max if he plays elsewhere i think the suns don’t value him as highly as others do especially with how deeply they’re tied up in contracts right now.

and i think the bucks played a solid series but still got outplayed in almost every game but were able to sneak away with ones they shouldn’t have won. the celtics didn’t play their best series and JT had his best two games at the end of the series but i think they could still win it all.

All the starters were extremely negative in plus/minus. But yeah, he may have been thinking instead of just playing. How can one value Ayton more when they can see how soft he was when it counted? I guess it's like Olowokandi being drafted high but yet even Alvin Gentry, as a member of the Suns coaching staff, in "7 Seconds or Less" called "a wimp." (And to think my late stepmom called KJ a wimp because he got injured so much, yet he drove the lane often. *Having pleasant flashback to when he dunked on Hakeem*)

The Bucks had lost Middleton but yet Giannis tried his very best. I'd take him over any player, even MVP Jokic. Celtics, if they can get Horford back, will do well.

Curry may have deserved it numbers-wise, but non-statistically, I'd give it to Green for disrupting Celtics mentally.

(Should have bet the folks at 538 who had the Celtics as 11-1 favorite after game 1... could have had a nice payday. :D)

dray and steph both had their usual pettiness masterclasses but dray hit another level, the starting to play basketball part in the second half of the series also helped them a bit too.

and the odds and percentages around the series made no sense to me. i remember espn or someone said that the celtics had an 86% chance of winning the finals before it started? during the conference finals i had the warriors as the favorites and just saw the celtics as the team with the better chance to win out of the east. i think it could’ve been a more interesting series if the celtics hadn’t played dumb with the ball but i also think that the heat would’ve lost in 5 had they made it.

Yeah, I think the Heat were overrated. Of course, I can only base that on the Suns stomping them on the final game of an east coast road trip this past season. The Heat looked woefully slow when it should have been Phoenix.

Next up... free agency. Who will Ayton sign with to force the trade?

the fact that jimmy is essentially the entire offense is the biggest issue with miami. it’s also why i don’t blame him for taking that three against boston cus he had almost nothing left in the tank for OT.

for me free agency will be listening to gobert and mitch rob rumors for the next month… hopefully KD slides into that conversation as well…

Yeah, Durant wants to come here. No. Suffer, dude. You keep changing teams because they don't win THAT year. Sign a one-year deal if you aren't willing to stick it out for the "long haul." Tired of professional athletes treating their game like the Dating Game.

i don’t mind it for older players chasing a ring or whatnot, but i feel like an mvp candidate (mvp favorite before his injury) asking to leave a franchise that fulfilled his requests and desires doesn’t look good at face value for KD. especially when he’s eyeing a move to a squad with two all-star teammates… yet shares a locker room with kyrie irving and ben simmons…

He'll never share the floor with Simmons because Ben is a hypochondriac waste. And Irving? There's a reason his name begins with "I"... My sympathies to Mr. Nash for having a GM/owner who thinks this is fantasy sports where its only about the numbers.

im surprised steve nash wasn’t pinned as the scapegoat after the sweep against boston cus a lot of it was his inability to make adjustments to udoka’s. it also feels like durant will be in a nets uniform on opening night as well as the other two stars they got. which i think is best cus this team is under everyone’s radar at the moment and they could end up on top after adding a bit of depth in FA. i feel like people forget that ben is one of the best defenders in the league and is comfortably a top 5 defender when healthy, if he brings that to the nets and they feed off of it, they could be dangerous.

People remember that Ben never plays far more than they'll ever remember his ability. I know I'm West coast biased, but I don't even have a mental image of Simmons playing at all. None. No highlight reel exists in my head of him.

if he comes in at 70% engaged and sharp on opening night, it’s gonna be a long night for whoever is bringing the ball up, he’s been a legit dpoy candidate and if he’s back and focused on ball it’s gonna get very interesting at the top of the east this season. especially with ky saying he wants to run it back in brooklyn.

if this team stays together and plays they’ll be a top 3 team in the east. if kd or ky go they’d need a great young player in return to reach that. there’s just too much talent on both sides of the floor on this team for it to be a complete disaster if all three are on the court.

Only one ball and sometimes three alphas do not equate into a good team.
