when I go to post a photo I often get a saying that my photo is too large. What is the appropriate size of photo for the forum so I can avoid having to constantly crop my photos down. I understand you cannot have these poster size photos on the site. If I have to resize. I’d just like to do it once. Thanks very much. Appreciate your time.
I think it has more to do with file size in bytes. Large images get resized to viewable proportions and if you want to view full size, you simply click it.
It's not the physical size it's the Memory or storage size of the image. I would say you need to keep it 1.2Mb and under. Above that and i normally get a message saying it's too large.
I'm able to attach 1,018 KB image, but not 1,030 KB image. It's safe to say that the limit is 1,024 KB.
There's also a dimension constraint, which I haven't figured out. I just made an image file size of 1006 KB with dimensions of 5,000 x 5,556 and it said it's too large.
I found an app called ‘image size’. I resized a photo. Worked the first time I tried uploading it. I think I went 500x500. We could use this thread for test runs if you wanted to.
