Thoughts Post your little thoughts.

You know what, it’s been a tough few days…. weeks. But today. My dog got up early to greet me when I got out of the shower. I got to watch a beautiful sunrise over the countryside, see the plants glistening in the sun from the rain we got last night. Watched a little family of geese with little goslings making their way to the pond. I picked up a coffee from one of my favorite cafes. I’m channeling my inner Barbie with my bright pink nails and pink jacket. Opening my eyes to find the joy in every day life. Day by day, minute by minute.

All of a sudden… I wanna play with Barbie’s!

Well said though ❤️

Bill Watterson wants wrote something to the effect of "So many of the people who seek immortality don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon."

I love that quote, and I hope a lot of people looking forward to retirement contemplate this frequently.

Does other people find small talk to be painful or is it just me? =/

My HS reunion is this year and I'm conflicted about going. It would be awesome to rekindle the entire bestie vibe and have all us gathered at one time. But at the same time. Having to hear and answer the same questions over and over as you circle the room is so BAD

I know it's a human nature for us all to grab the most obvious topics. To fight off silence and have "something" to talk about...but yea it makes me avoid certain social settings for sure

If you find it uncomfortable, you can always work toward finding a solution to it. Practice making small talk with yourself and find different topics instead of the usually obvious ones you think they'll ask like "What do you do for work?", "Married?", & "Started a family yet?"

I went to mine and yes it was painful to sit there and hear the same questions asked over and over so I started making jokes with my old friends saying "Man you all look rough...", & "Time has not been gracious to you all" lol. Sounds bad I know, but it helped me through it, I made up with some of my buddies that way, because it was like we was picking with each other just like old times.
