I think we should have a forum dedicated to psychology. Why people do the things they do, what makes them tick, individual thought patterns, and various disorders of the human brain (sharing personal experiences only if comfortable and at your own risk). It's something that fascinates me and I'm sure that others would get on board with it.

Just a thought

I'll jump on board. I got 32 years of anxiety and neurotic attributes I can discuss ;). Also, I really loved psychology. My favorite is dissociative identity disorder.

My interest was sparked when I was diagnosed with manic depression at 18, which led me to do more research on it and other mental disorders, like personality disorders and PTSD. This might not be the best place for advice, but we can throw our opinions out there and share our own thoughts. No judgement from me on this subject.

I love studying PTSD. I wrote a paper on how if we took away the "disorder" part it might help remove the stigma attached and help soldiers realize they can ask for help without any repercussions.

not only is it mistaken for a weakness, but a lot of soldiers get privileges unnecessarily taken as a precautin

They deserve a lot better than they get after their service is up. Especially this time of year, when suicide rates are through the roof.

Psychology is a science. Post about it in the science forum. It can also be a political topic, since politics involves a lot of *applied* social science. How to use these boards is: Figure out what you want to say, and figure out where that fits. A thread like, "psychology, discuss" is a really boring thread, but a thread like, "the psychology behind internet hookups," you could fit that in the hookups board, or the science board, depending on what the focus of your post is. A thread like "the psychology behind poor white people voting against their interests by voting republican" could go in the politics board.

I've noticed this trend of people asking for entire boards dedicated to like, every conceivable topic. It's not going to happen. It's not possible. The board list would be a mile long.
