It was called the Welsh Knot. It was a plank of wood with a rope attached and any child in school caught speaking welsh would have to wear it around their neck until someone else was caught. The one with it at the end of the day was beaten.
I work with lots of families from other countries and am always encouraging them to continue speaking their home languages with their young children so they don’t get lost.

We find that the kids. Especially once they are around 8+ only want to speak English but the Hope is they have enough years of home
Language behind them to go back to it once they come to their senses haha
