I’m interning with a regional curator with the state historical and museum commission, who goes around to a bunch of different historic sites providing support where needed

That sounds awesome.
Sounds kind of like the heritage people we have in London, providing help in preserving and removing items of historical value etc.
Kinda maybe? Mostly I’ve been cataloging things and learning how things work (or don’t work lol)
