I've never done 1-night stands nor will I. I too like a connection even though I am not interested in anything long-term.
I am honest though. I tell guys straight away (1st date usually), 'Look, if you are thinking 'long-term' with regards me, don't. I'm a single with occasional bouts of being exclusive with 1 man for a limited time. I like to know the day it will end almost from the beginning. Then its his choice, stay if acceptable, leave if not.
My lifestyle/career isn't conducive to relationships.

I didn’t know at the time. I guess I was what most people would call a “late bloomer”, and didn’t have many prospects, sexually speaking. I had discovered sex at a really young age, and had built it up to an unreasonable level in my mind, to the point that I was too terrified to even approach women to start any kind of intimate relationship. 1. I think that might have been part of it. I can remember touching myself, and feeling ashamed of it, at that early age, but not knowing why I felt ashamed. I just remember not wanting anybody to know I was doing it, because they might be upset with me. Also, when I was growing up sex was not talked about in my family, so it was this really mysterious thing that I didn’t think I’d ever understand or experience for myself. Even in high school and into my twenties it felt completely unattainable for me. 4. There was no standard price. I negotiated a payment with the lady over email, which was $500. That might be a tad high, but the experience was worth every penny.
