I think this is the 3rd software I see in here. It is the worst.

Please don't remove the old chat! Those are years of memories and the new chat feels and looks so horrible!

new and improved are oxymoronic terms at best. lies at worst. the old chat will always be better than the new chat. arrrrrrrrrrrr!
is this permanent? you are going to lose a lot of users if so.... whatever happened to if it aint broke, dont fix it?
is this the new way of the rooms? ive seen this happen with the UK chat room, its literally unusable for most users.... after nearly 10 years of being a member, this is unusable... lets hope the "maintenance" is back within the 24 hrs you state... now im getting bombarded with ads and extra wind0ws... rethink theupgrade, or get people in to make it work....

you are going to lose thousands of chatters...
The new chat is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Please remove it and stick with the original. No one cares for the new one at all. Every time they jump in, they select use old. Annoying that we have to select the option every time.
the why in my opinion is if people wanted to chat on OFC they would chat on OFC. the new FCN looks like OFC after its change

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The old chat wasn't broken. No need to create a new layout/chat at all.

The old chat can longer be updated. Code is just too old. Rapidly evolving tech, and consequently, security/coding standards are simply making old chat less and less compatible with newer devices and software they run on. Eventually, devices and various operating systems and/or browsers will just refuse to run the old chat.

The New Chat Software forum has been created in order to collect feedback, bugs and complaints so the new chat software can be developed with users in-mind. The more people use the new chat and report issues, the quicker and more effectively those issues and performance complaints can be addressed.

This is a rare opportunity for the community to contribute to something everyone together will enjoy. How often does that happen in the chat world?

Please use New Chat Software forums for Bugs/Complaints/Suggestions/Feedback, etc.

Owners, developers and admins do actively discuss emerging bugs, feasibility of suggestions and other relevant things. All sorts of feedback can be very helpful!

Some posts of interest to developer/FCN have been moved to appropriate forums.

Thanks.

I want to thank everyone for the constructive feedback and even the not so constructive. This process has shed so much light on the things we have to improve on that we're going to shut down the old chat at a maximum of 1 time per month or after every major upgrade.

We've already fixed a bunch of issues that were reported, but for the next month the forefront of the work will be towards:

- narrowing down on why certain devices get such a high spike in CPU usage, leading to lag (this doesn't happen to everyone which makes it tricky to fix)

- tidying up the theme a bit, putting things in the same place as they are in the old chat for familiarity.

We'll repeat the 24 hour downtime experiment until all major concerns are dealt with.

Remember nobody is here because they like the look of the website or chat application, we come here because the people that use the service make it great.
