Movies STAR WARS

Rogue one has the best Vader appearance ever. It was just 2 minutes but the scene in the tunnel is my favourite darh Vader scene ever
Absolutely. The Vader in the original trilogy doesn't portray how evil he actually is. That one tiny scene at the end of R1 shows it off perfectly. Could literally just watch Vader go around fucking people up like that for a whole movie, lol.

Hell yeah, it was! You could see the pure terror in those Rebel soldiers!
That's something director Gareth Edwards is great in doing. His first movie ' monsters ' had a budget of half a million £ . He made the special effects on the laptop. His second movie was Godzilla. Where you didn't see much Godzilla but he created the atmosphere. After this he made Rouge one

There was a Reddit forum with over a million members just for that one scene

See? when i saw they were digitally recreating return of the jedi Luke for The Mandalorian i was bemused. When i heard CH was back as Darth Vader in Obi-Wan, I was intrigued. i guess for me the newly minted "skywalker saga" is the only star wars for me. but having been a RPG fan from decades back, it is nice to stretch the edges of the mythos... CGI does not a good movie make; there was something down right awesome with the first Star Wars. the prequal was just... too busy. they would have been better served putting the cut scenes in the movie and leaving some of the CGI-fest out of it. As far as Disney goes, Walt must be spinning in his grave... er... cryogenic chamber... assuming Mike didn't pull the plug on 'im.
But the prequels haven't been made by Disney. It was all George Lucas and ILM

I haven't seen Monsters... I'm going to have to check it out. Godzilla was fantastic! I also really enjoyed The Creator. His movies have great effects, but the characters transcend the effects.

I never read any of the Star Novels. Which is a good one to start reading?

Splinter of the Minds Eye.
Han Solo At Stars End.
Han Solo's Revenge.

  • Heir to the Empire (1991)
  • Dark Force Rising (1992)
  • The Last Command (1993)
and of course
Star Wars: A New Hope, formerly titled Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker, is a Legends novel written by Alan Dean Foster.
latest

1987

I think even though most novels are not considered cannon anymore that the first Thrawn trilogy are the ones to read, starting with Heir to the Empire. They are the Episodes 7,8, and 9 that should have been.
That's the ones written by Timothy Zahn in the early 90s . I try to remember next time I standing in a second hand book shop.

I found the first 15or 20 minutes a bit confusing, It looked great and had its moment but unfortunately the whole story has been told halfway through it. After half of it you can already work out how it will end. But the idea of the world it played was great. I'm sure there will be a prequel or a series playing in that universe at some point

How can anyone not like Star Wars? My husband had to beg me to watch them but, lucky for him, I instantly fell in love with the movies.

We watched them in chronological order for the first time, and I think it took us two days to watch all 6 movies (we of course don't count the Disney one's). I've watched all the other movies, clone wars and shows. It's a big part of our lives tbh haha.

What have part 7, 8 and 9 in the Skywalker Saga, the Shows and standalone movies in common? They all been Distributed by Disney. Produced were all of them, just like the "original 6"by Lucasfilm.
