@SweetLesGirl - both beautiful and sad, on how we scar in greed. This reminded me of a documentary I saw a while ago. This is the cover, this is Carra marble mines of Italy, one might need to zoom to see how tiny the trucks are(tiny blue thingy is a giant truck). The documentary is harsh and so was this image.

The creation of the moon has many theories. The leading and most agreed upon theory is of a planet that was bit smaller than Mars, it has sweetly got a name too called Thea.

Thea struck against a hot and molten Earth in the earliest stages. This impact was so massive it tilted our planet to an angle 23.5 Degree. That tilt gives us seasons and weather patterns. This impact also started our rotation, thus give us a day and night.

On the other hand, the impact gave us Moon, a really really large satellite. It has the biggest ratio for the planet size to the satellite, ever found. That gives us weather currents, tides and made nights less dark.

The primary reason to come to this conclusion is actually very simple. The composition of all planets is different, however, Moon's composition is very similar to our own. It is actually born out of the "rocky" marriage of Earth and Thea.

Florida’s Psychedelic Swamp
Florida’s Psychedelic Swamp.jpg
Every year, usually around February and March, this Florida swamp takes on a whole new look. These pictures aren’t edited; the technicolor effect is due to the release of tannic acids from decomposing plant life. The natural oils from cypress leaves in particular produce a type of “oil slick” effect on the still surface of the swamp. When sunlight hits the water just right, the swamp begins to shimmer in a psychedelic rainbow. These tannins also occasionally produce what is termed “black water”, or patches of water that seem incredibly inky and highly reflective.
