I would love to see writers with opposing positions attempt to paraphrase each other's position as accurately and empathetically as possible. Without refutation or barbs.
I guess it's the possible part that makes it unlikely.
Mutually respectful dialogue is so important. And like a rare gem, so hard to come by. I appreciate the rational elements of discussion here - on various sides - but one has to sift through a lot of sticks and stones.
