Everything is a series of atoms and electrons. To believe in an after life is to disregard everything that is known about physics as well as the laws of the universe

Smile! I agree that consciousness, which is tied to the connections in our brain, dies with our bodies, so most people's ideas of an afterlife are a fantasy.

But, we know there is more to everything than a series of atoms and electrons. Even dismissing subatomic particles like mesons and neutrinos, we know that photons, and forces like gravity and electromagnetic fields exist and can be measured.

We are still developing our understanding of physics and the laws of the Universe, so scientific theory continues to evolve. Nothing in Science proves that an afterlife can't exist or that there aren't life forces within our bodies that can continue to exist after death.

Reading this thread certainly shows how curious we are and the lengths we go to when it comes to the unknown. I believe we aren’t that special enough to begin with. As Ms Lane stated by a haunting phrase, “we are just probability.” If there’s an afterlife, or rebirth, or parallels to different worlds we are able to start in once our time comes, certainly interesting thoughts, but perhaps this is our way to cope with the things we have done throughout our lives. We are so hung up on the idea we have special treatment simply because we are humans. We really aren’t that interesting but I do admit I find myself thinking about afterlife and rebirth, why the deja vu; We are so self absorbed that we cling to ways that make us feel immortal and less shitty about paths or decisions we have taken. Thats just what we are, self absorbed and so we brace ourselves until the clock of our time stops clicking.

I mostly agree with your post, but I believe that each of us is special and can contribute to the greater good or just take from it and help foster its destruction.

I do believe in reincarnation. I think we do come back as something or someone else. My only hope is I come back one day, as a hot girls bike seat lol
