Lol I can't remember If I already said this here or somewhere
Anywho
Virginia guy with a thick terrible accent once asked me
"When you gonna let me take you out and buy you a cheeseburger"

Lmao ...you are kidding me?
Lmao..nope
I spent 2 years during college working with a company affiliated with the coal industry in Eastern Ky. So close to the Virginia border, met some of those guys too who crossed over for work
There were only 4 (I think) of us women in that area from both companies. Total sausage fest
Im immune to alot LOL

Other cringey moment was the married one who kept flirting till I purposely embarrassed him one day, stating that his son was in my Algebra course

That put an end to it Lmao

LOL I bet
He was just being a creep. I was like 19/20 at the time. He was in his 40s. Kept perving / flirting. I keep rejecting. He stopped by my office once day and was like "when can I get a picture to keep"
Mind you smart phones didn't exist back then lol. Ppl still did print offs

I responded "uh I don't think your wife would like that very much"

That obviously didn't work. Next time he tried, I pulled the son card
;)

Damn how did I forget this thread existed?! Especially since I like asking questions. If you don't mind to answering...

1. What does a mental connection with another person mean to you? Or in other words how do/can you connect mentally with another person?

2. Do you personally have to be attracted to someone physically to also have a mental connection with that person?

1. What does a mental connection with another person mean to you? Or in other words how do/can you connect mentally with another person?
For me, a big part of mental connection is all about convo and understanding. There's some people you meet and the conversations just flow so easily. They make you think, laugh, question your own views, give you enlightenment, you admire their wisdom is certain things.
But with the understanding part, I think mental and emotional connection joins hand and hand. I want for someone to "get" me. Or at least make effort to, over time.
For me, this shows whether someone is invested in me as a person. An I gauge my importance to them, by how invested they act.

Sometimes I like when that connection is so deep, that a person can feel my thoughts without me having to express it.

2. Do you personally have to be attracted to someone physically to also have a mental connection with that person
This is a tricky one. Typically attraction to looks and personality is what gets me interested. And then I get to know that person from there.

But there was a time when I fell hard, and it was in reverse. I wasn't attracted to the person in a physical kind of way. Was just a friendship. But over time I developed feelings for them through the connection we made. And then oddly, the feelings made me want them physically.

So it was enlightenment for me and proved that if someone captivates my mind..and I get caught up in feelings. Then they don't have to try and be sexy.
I just naturally want them.
So Im not being modest when I say that mental stimulation is a big deal to me.
But of course that outward attraction will always play part.
I highly doubt I could ever fall for someone looking like Marilyn Manson..lol

Thank you very much for the detailed answers!

You explained it so well and I have a lot of the same thoughts about having a mental connection with someone. Especially about the conversation flowing easily between you and the other person along with the level of understanding there. I've mentioned it several times on here in various places, but far too many people here (and 'in the real world') don't take the time to make mental connections. It can be such a powerful emotion and connection.

Agreed, outward/physical attraction must play a part in the overall attraction. I don't think I could mentally connect with a person with which there wasn't at least some physical attraction. I have never considered myself a looks based person, but let's be honest, in almost all circumstances looks play a role, even if it is a small role. I will say personally for me the mental connection with a person is extremely important. Though I do need to be able to respond to their body... and their mind/connection with me can play a role in it.

Since you are so kind in answering questions, one more for you!

Are you an avid reader? If so, what is your favorite genre to read? Do you have a favorite book and/or author? If you aren't an avid reader is there any reason why you are not?

I guess it is really more than one question, ha.

Awee Q&A is fun sometimes ! Besides it gives me something to do : )

Are you an avid reader?
Sadly, reading has set sail for me. Seems like I don't have the passion that I once did? But hopefully one day I'll get the passion back. Fiction and crime thrillers are fun genres
Do you have a favorite book and/or author?
Interesting enough, the Bible. Years back I got into studying and reading it for 4 years. Daily for the most part. It truly fascinates me. There's just so much hidden wisdom and knowledge (partly due to symbolism). I use to sit for hours and hours reading and taking notes. I filled 5 subject notebooks full of scribbles :D
Last sets I had of them last year, was still about 6 notebooks full I think? (Untelling what I had pitched prior to that.)
But its just definitely one book I could never grow old. Because I would feel that no matter how many years I read it, a lifetime even. Id still never have the full knowledge of it all. It's truly that deep.
But that ^^ is where my passion ended. After I stopped reading 4-5 years ago, I never have got the desire back.
But it's not just with books, I've gottten the same way with movies and tv. I use to be a movie junkie. Stayed renting them, almost weekly sometimes. But anymore I have to take the mood for certain series..but once I like them, I will binge watch for days LOL
Im still one of those weird people that constantly searches randoms facts, stats, and info tho. Sometimes that knowdlege is worthless but nonetheless I enjoy it : )

Name a movie you walked out on, Mine was Confessions of a Shopoholic, and I only went due to the promise of intercourse afterwards, I just went home instead, fuck that was awful:)

Tropic Thunder
I was working at a comprehensive care center at the time. So all the crude humor targeting the mentally disabled, just really hit the wrong nerve.

Thank you for answering my question about reading. A very interesting response! I am an avid reader of mainly thriller/adventure fiction novels, but lately haven't been able to get into the books I've gotten. Hope I'm not losing my passion for it.

I'll be back again with more questions, if you don't mind. : )
