100th Post - A small but happy milestone, family photo time!

When I started this thread it was in an effort to try and promote a bit more friendly, light hearted and less sterile exchange of views and aspects of our various life experiences and I like to think its coming along marvellously. My personal thanks and big well done to all who contribute and those who enjoy visiting to see what might tickle their funny bone. Thank you.

With a giggle and my love,

@Vanessa_Agogo it was a brilliant idea to start this thread - many thanks to you!

Seeing John Astin reminded me of another show that was on the air in those years starting his future wife as "twin" cousins.

Not particularly funny - just a laugh track mid-60's sit-com 'bout those "crazy" teens and their rock 'n' roll - but it's what we watched growing up (come to think of it, that might explain a lot ;))

Who Listens To Radio? - Stan Freberg

Long before video killed the radio star, tv was trying since 1965. Now its the internet's turn and no-one has succeeded yet.

Summarize Proust Competition - Monty Python's Flying Circus

I haven't read Proust but I will say this about having read Victor Hugo and Honoré de Balzac: I'd rather go skinny dipping in a lake of fire ants.

The Great Dictator (Final Speech) - Charlie Chaplin

A timely reminder of humanity's folly. Comedy has long been our greatest way of repudiating the self absorbed ego of power, the full tilt comedy leading to this point combined with this speech made "The Great Dictator" arguably Chaplin's greatest film.

I'm feeling too old tonight - lol
We're not allowed to see the clip here, what was it?
I'll see if I can find a clip from a play by Aristophones, great comedy sticking it to the state and the gods. He wrote early 3rd century BC in Athens, now that's how you feel old.
