Lilly's College Classes (and boobs)

I hear public speaking goes well if you do it in the nude… no wait… I think I may have that mixed up :p but I still like the thought of you nude :)

*Time for an update*
Spring quarter is almost halfway through and I'm still holding strong at A's in all my classes. I'm not sure how long I can keep it up but I just do my best to get everything done in a timely matter and not give up. There was a lot of giving up last quarter but I'm doing much better this time around! Here's a screenshot of all my classes

Something interesting I'm learning is that SUDP (Substance use disorder professionals) and Substance use treatment professionals are medical providers. Yet there is so much stigma in twined with substance use that is common practice for terms to be used such as "dirty UA" or "alcoholic". We don't ever hear a doctor shaming a diabetic, asking them how many donuts they ate if they're bloodsugar is high. Substance use disorders are medical, not moral, and we are very slowly moving away from how this is manifested in our language towards the patients.

I'm interested to hear others opinions on this. We watched this in one of my classes this week and I almost walked out several times. It's difficult to watch if you experienced childhood trauma or are a parent of a child who has experienced trauma. No reenactments, just data. But it's for sure interesting!!

Fascinating talk. It's interesting because I've actually walked by the Center for Youth Wellness a couple of times but I previously imagined it to be a facility for physical rehabilitation for some reason. But after listening to Dr. Burke's talk my perspective has since come around and it's allowed me greater insight to one of them many social challenges that my home continues to face. Thank you for posting this!

Tomorrow is my last day of practicum. It's a little bittersweet but overall I'm excited to move on with my life and into bigger and better things. Two of my professors are going to be academic references which is humbling because I hold them in such high regard. I feel like this field is similar to having a child. There's no way to be fully prepared for it, I'm guaranteed to make mistakes along the way and question if I'm really cut out for it, but after several years I'll start to come into my own. Let's go!!

I hope you have an amazing last day. And as to the future, I know you'll do great in whatever you choose because of your strength and determination. You always push yourself to succeed and still have time for tackling the everyday things we all struggle with. ❤️
