Archived New Rooms: Give us your feedback! (Old Chat 2017)

As a relative newbie here, I think the balance (if that´s really the right word for it) is just about right.
I tried it as a guest to see if I liked it and joined up more or less straight away.

The navigation is self explanatory and even if you stumble around in the dark for a while, someone usually lends a hand.
Some rooms tend to be a bit "Clique" but that´s the same on any chat.
I tried my hand at RP, something I never would have ever envisioned myself doing, and enjoyed it.
I for one can see myself happily ensconced (gotta try and use that word more often) in this site for the forseeable future.

PS: I reported a user today and the mod on duty in that room guided me through the correct process so big thumbs up there too.

If it ain´t broken, Don´t fix it !!!

I couldn’t agree more. A members only room would stop the flood of guests in all the other rooms.

Some people have good reason for remaining guests.
I personally know of two people who for their own safety feel the need to log in as guests.
Agreed being a member makes it easier to find friends online and even communicate without even going into the same room or even any room.

Like I said: If it ain´t broke, don´t fix it

That’s a fair point. Maybe a room where only guests that take some sort of test could get in? Not the bot test, but something like it.

This is true. What if certain guests with reasons like you said could talk to mods and be allowed in this members only room?

Can you imagine scrolling through a list of 1,000+ (There are up to 3,000 users during peak time) personal chat rooms and not being able to get to the room you want, because either your device freezes as a result of an overload or inability of the device to populate such a long page? People leaving and joining multiple rooms, forgetting that they joined multiple rooms, bogging down their device until it freezes or crashes, non-responsive chat--because chat can't keep up with all the room creations/deletions...

We're looking at implementing some new rooms to help spread out the population in some of the uncomfortably over-packed rooms. We'd like to get your ideas and feedback, so, for now:
  • Make sure you read the thread before posting.
  • If your idea for a new room has not been suggested, make a post nominating your new room idea.
  • If someone else has suggested something you would like to see, quote their post.
  • You can make multiple suggestions if you want.

Eventually, we'll take the most popular nominations, as well as some of our own ideas, and put them to a forum poll. From there, we'll use your feedback to help us decide what best serves everyone's needs.

CLARIFICATION: There will not be 50 million rooms for every conceivable interest and restriction. There will be something like 4, max. Therefore: A) if your suggestion sucks, you're wasting it. B) Make sure you are seconding each others' suggestions if you like them.

The takeaway from this thread isn't supposed to be "everyone has a wild idea." It's supposed to help focus on what things are wanted primarily.

To have the ability to invite members into your own private chat. Like 3 , 4, somes for example

Furry - The furry fandom is a subculture interested in anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, speaking, walking on two legs, and wearing clothes

More rooms are definitely needed. Also, please make it abundantly clear that each room has a specific agenda. Just like you jerks won't allow me to enter the lesbian chatroom (for whatever effed up reason), people need to know the guidelines for each room.

Too many seem confused, as to which room they are in.

We also need an ass-pic room.

Yeah. I said it.

Ass. Heh-heh...

More rooms are definitely needed.

Half of the rooms are half-empty. Some are completely empty during certain hours. There's no shortage of rooms.

Also, please make it abundantly clear that each room has a specific agenda.

Each room name is self-explanatory. There's no agenda.

Just like you jerks won't allow me to enter the lesbian chatroom (for whatever effed up reason),

Are you a woman? Are you a lesbian? No? Why do you need to access a room for women only, then? Your reason to be there is effed up.

people need to know the guidelines for each room.

Each room has a title and topic. Those are self-explanatory guidelines. This isn't kindergarten.

Too many seem confused, as to which room they are in.

You can see the title of the room on every screen at the top.

We also need an ass-pic room.

Yeah. I said it.

Ass. Heh-heh...

Okay, let's open a million nonsensical, empty rooms, teach people how to read titles and topic bars... what else?
