First, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't quite sure where to put this.

I have been having a problem with a guest who continuously harasses me. He steals my pictures, threatens me, etc. I've blocked him several times and the mods (depending on the mod and what this man does/says) have banned him but it doesn't solve anything. He just comes in under a new name and does the same thing. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. This has went on for a little over a year now with nothing changing. I normally just block pesty assholes but this is relentless. I've shown multiple mods screenshots of the messages and proof and I'm just at a loss...

Is there anything that can be done other just blocking? This happens multiple times a week. Any advice would be be appreciated. Thank you so much for reading.

I know this might sound drastic but have you thought of changing your profile name altogether ?
This happened to a dear friend too and she dropped her real photo and replaced it with a Kitsune or some other pointy eared creature.
She then got in touch with her trusted friends and it solved the problem.

I have a couple of questions too.

If the site can save a 'friend's list', why does the 'blocked list' re-set every time you log out?
It would be much appreciated by many, many people if 'once blocked, stays blocked'

Also,

Rather than just blocking a 'user-name', an IP block would prevent people simply changing nicknames and re-hassling.

I'm quite capable of handling what ever the site throws at me. It's more a matter of convenience really. :)

Thanks in advance.

I think the Blocked list only resets after clearing your internet cache, although I´m not sure, I find it has gone back to normal after using CCleaner so I wouldn't take my word for it.
The big problem though is blocking guests, often they just change their username, and they can still see anything you post in the main room coz blocking them just stops you seeing anything they say or post.

Friend list is retrieved from account, block list is stored in browser's cookies.

Clear cookies and you lose the block list. Log in from another device and you'll have to block users again—cookies don't move from device to device or browser to browser, unless you're clever to figure it out. "Anonymous/private/secret/incognito"mode clears cookies upon closing of chat.

That's the thing, even if I don't delete cookies, the next log on, I'm re-blocking the same people from yesterday. I only use the PC for internet, so its not a 'multiple device' issue.
I just hoped there'd be a simple answer. It doesn't actually bother me. I am not going to stress over having to do a few clicks on FCN when I spend 1/2 my on-line time 'clicking'.

Thanks Stan, you are wonderful. :)

People rarely have that issue. Either your browser is odd, some odd browser setting is enabled or cookie is corrupt. Try clearing cookies and dumping Chrome. :P

If you block guests then you you will have to re block them when you log back in

That doesn't sound right. Block a few various guests and registered users, type /block to see the list. Leave chat and type /block after you return to chat. Your block list should remain the same.

Old is the word for my trusted old Lappy. Win 7 was the OS of choice when I was laptop shopping.
The K/b has died (cordless k/b now in use)
The touch pad died (cordless mouse now in use)

It can't see 2 of the 4 USB ports.
But, it runs MS Office and that's all I need.
Everything is backed up daily, so I am ready for the day when it decides I should update and lets all the smoke out of all its little circuity things.

Firefox is my browser.

I don't have the same issue with FireFox. It's either browser settings or corrupt cookies.
