you're not a victim for sharing your story. you are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth. and you never know who needs your light, your warmth, and raging courage. Sometimes it take time to rise from the shame and find the courage to tell your secrets but when you do start telling your story. That is when your courage starts and you healing starts and your fight and the shame is not yours, it's theirs. You're strong and amazing. Remember you can rise from the depths of all darkness in your mind. There are people that will listen.

Many trauma survivors feel shame for getting triggered by "good natured" teasing-but when that kind of thing happens, it's real important to remember that trauma responses are not choices. Trauma responses are survival modes that has got us this far and will continue us further in life and protect us. It's ok to be triggered and step back for a while. This is our survival and how we have made it. No one has fought as hard you have to be here in the here and now. Keep fighting and remember you're not alone.
