Free Chat Now News New community chat rooms, create your own chat room

There are extensive management tools for bans based on IP, username, cookie, device etc.. Plus advanced access management such as only allowing friends, friends of friends, ability to block guests, creating a manual members list, invitation only and more.

The rooms can't be free because then we'd have 10,000 chat rooms with one person in each. We're following the strategy we utilized back in 2005 - 2015 which was very successful, a reasonable amount of heavily utilized private chat rooms to give the chat server some personality and charisma.

Oooo I like the invitation only idea! Hopefully that’s an option when this premium FCN launches.

Just my two cents on this, I think it’s a great idea and I’d definitely be part of it. However, seeing as an IP ban isn’t really effective since anyone can obtain a new IP addy, leave that feature out and employ maybe a room-specific ban on usernames with varying lengths of time such as 1hr, all day, 2days, etc. as for premium fcn features, let the room creation be a paid feature. This sounded good in my head lol. Also, other question would be, when a room is created under the premium feature, are FCN mods allowed to enter the rooms? By fcn mods I mean the ones who are moderating the pre-determined rooms as they exist now.
Global moderators will have the ability to enter private rooms when there's a report for TOU violations or if there's illegal content to be modded and evidence needs to be viewed or gathered. Global moderators won't loiter in private rooms, unless you invite them.

I like the idea of a chatroom that's country based or local ex: Canadian chat or USA chat.
I'd easily set that up if given the chance.

One of the reasons its hard to find a decent chatting site is because nearly 9/10 of them lack this very basic feature. There was a site thats gone now that used to do this and it was so nice and convenient to be able to just invite your friends into your private room and have fun, and not be bombarded by DM spam or have the chat flooded by 100+ users.

It's a fantastic feature and being able to have your own space to hangout with multiple people is great, whether that's public or private, you have a lot of room controls to tailor the room to what suits you and your friends. I would happily pay for the service, depending on the cost of course. It's a tricky one, it obviously needs to be enough that as mentioned there aren't just 10,000 empty rooms at all times, but hopefully it won't be sooo high that it's paywalled to only those who have the highest disposable income on a back-backbreaking monthly subscription service. Should it be paid? yes that's fine, makes sense. Should it cost more than it does a certain rival service to have a private server with premium services/features/etc? No, imo. It's still, at the end of the day, a very rudimentary text-based chat without inbuilt gifs, video uploads, streaming ability, in-built games, etcetc so I really do hope they factor that into the price when setting it. I honestly see that being the only issue at all, the pricing, the actual offering for what it is, is great.

If this is a paid private chat room, will the Owners of the room be allowed to then also monetize for hosting it?

How about fixing some of the major issues with the existing chat first? Constant server reboots, chat just crashing randomly, the fact that you still need to log in twice despite being told when New Chat was launching that it would be fixed "soon", or the fact that the friends lists from Old Chat were never migrated over despite assurances that would happen as well.

So many broken things to fix before adding more new things.

Friends list fix is coming very soon, which will take place with forum software update.
You log into forum once and into chat once—two different pieces of software.
Some kinks are still being worked out.

I don't think a private chatroom should be a paid feature, the basic functionality of a private room should be free for anyone who wishes to just simply make a room. They can be temporary and if the room creator logs off and everyone leaves the room, it simply removes/deletes itself off the list of rooms.

Paid features for priv rooms should be things like advertisement for the room itself "join XX's room if you like YY, ask for an invite!" or special ban features, or the ability to make it a permanent private room so anyone who has been invited too it, can always access it without the creator being there.

Ban feature is advanced.
They will function exactly in that manner.
